What changed
Scripts stopped June 30, 2026
On June 30, 2026, Shopify deactivated every script still published on a store. Discount, shipping and payment rules built with Scripts no longer run.
Functions replace Scripts
Shopify directs merchants to Shopify Functions. Function APIs include Discount, Cart Transform, Delivery Customization, Payment Customization and Cart and Checkout Validation.
checkout.liquid is gone too
checkout.liquid is no longer supported for the Information, Shipping and Payment steps. For Plus stores, checkout.liquid and additional scripts on the Thank you and Order status pages were sunset on August 28, 2025.

How it works
Free 30-minute check
You share your Scripts customizations report or old script code. We look at your checkout and give you a fixed quote.
Audit
We write down what each old script did, for which products, customers and conditions. We flag any rule an existing App Store app already covers.
Rebuild and test
We rebuild each rule as a Shopify Function inside a custom app for your store. We test it on a development store against your real discount, shipping and payment cases.
Cutover and fixes
We install the app on your live store at a time you pick and check the first orders with you. For 14 days after launch, we fix any bug in our work at no extra cost.
Common questions
My scripts stopped. Is my checkout broken?
Orders still go through. The custom rules your scripts applied no longer run, so discounts, shipping options and payment methods show up without them.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
For a custom app with Functions, yes. Shopify only lets Plus stores use custom apps that contain Function APIs. Public apps from the App Store that use Functions work on any plan.
Can an App Store app replace my scripts?
Sometimes. Shopify's Scripts customizations report suggests apps for some cases. In the audit we tell you which rules an app covers and which need custom code.
We lost the old script code. Can you still help?
Yes. Shopify's Scripts customizations report lists the customizations that were active before the shutdown, and you can export it as a CSV file. We start from that and confirm each rule with your team.
